Scope and Content

The collection comprises of the 172 leaf typescript biography, the notes collected by Thomson during the preparation of the biography and extensive correspondence with family and friends of Wild.

Administrative / Biographical History

Kenneth Graham Thomas undertook research in to the life of John Robert Francis Wild with the aim of producing a biography. This research included extensive correspondence with the family of 'Frank', including his widow, brother, sisters and cousins. Thomson also wrote to the Scott Polar Research Institute and Wilds contemporaries. The biography covered the period of Wilds life from 1873 to 1916 when Thomson stopped work on it in 1956.

The collection is arranged in the order in which it was deposited at the Institute.
