Two unpublished typescripts about the lives and work of Mildred Cable, Evangeline French and Francesca French, missionaries in China and the Gobi Desert entitled "Cart tracks across the Gobi: the search for Mildred Cable" by Patricia East and "The wild, wild Gobi: missionaries and adventures in the tumult of the Chinese Gobi" by Brian McCredie.

Glenn Henry Timmermans is a professor of English at the University of Macao and is interested in the history of the British in China.

Mildred Cable and Evangeline and Francesca French were missionaries with the China Inland Mission. The surviving archive of the China Inland Mission is held in the Library of the School of Oriental and African Studies.
