Gift of land, Wimpole and Kingston, Cambridgeshire

In consideration of an undisclosed sum, Henry le Barber of Cambridge, son of the late John ate brok of Eversden, confirms his gift to John Wyther of Wympol [Wimpole, Cambridgeshire], to John's wife Margery, and to John's heirs and assigns, of four acres arable land with appurtenances lying in the fields of Wimpole and Kyngustone [Kingston, Cambridgeshire]. One acre lies in the field of Kingston against 'le mare', next to land of Christian le Spens of Wimpole. Another acre lies on Redemilde, next to land of Walter de Wratteworth, one head abutting on le mare. Four selions lie together on Grenedich Hill between lands late of Master William de Saint George, one head abutting on the headland [forera] of the said William. One selion lies against Grenedich, the upper head abutting on Grenedich Wey. Half an acre lies upon Peselond, against lands of William Badekoc, abutting on le mare. One selion lies in the Rede Aker in the south field, against land of Robert ate Welle, one head abutting on the headland of John Makeles. One selion lying in Syreslond, next to land of Margaret of Bassingburne [Bassingbourn, Cambridgeshire], abutting upon the headland late of Robert de Baunus. At [Wimpole?], deed poll, witnessed by Lawrence de Wratteworth, Robert Payn, Walter de Benewell, William Wyleby, Robert ad Font', and others. Tag and seal wanting. Endorsed in sixteenth- or seventeenth-century hands: '5 E 3' and 'Wimple'.
