Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Mackenzie, Roberton & Co , solicitors, Glasgow, Scotland, were formed in 1896 by the amalgamation of Roberton, Low, Roberton & Cross , solicitors, Glasgow, established c1830 , and Mackenzie, Gardner & Alexander , solicitors, Glasgow, established c1740 . The firm was based at 176 St Vincent Street and later Bothwell Street in Glasgow. In 1985 the firm amalgamated with the Glasgow solicitors, Mitchells, Johnston, Hill & Hoggan to form Mitchells Roberton . In 2002, the headquarters of the new firm were at George House, 36 North Hanover Street, Glasgow.
