Miscellaneous notes, cuttings and other items concerning Friedrich Meinecke (1862-1954), collected by Siegfried August Kaehler and formerly inserted in his copy of Meinecke's Staat und Persnlichkeit (1933). Administrative / Biographical History

Friedrich Meinecke, 1862-1954, was a German historian and intellectual, whose humanist views incurred disfavour during the Nazi period. In 1948 he became Rector of the Free University of Berlin. Siegfried August Kaehler was an historian who held teaching posts at a number of North American universities
