Scope and Content

This oral history collection consists of 44 interviews created through a partnership between Leicester City Council and the Leicestershire Archaeological & Historical Society and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Interviews depict notable physical changes to Leicester’s infrastructure and local attitudes towards the city's material heritage.

Administrative / Biographical History

The project ‘Changing Leicester’ ran for six months from September 2016 to February 2017, capturing oral history testimonies concerning the development of Leicester’s material heritage from World War Two to the present. The project culminated in an exhibition that toured community venues in 2017.
