Administrative / Biographical History

The town and port of Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, stands on the lowest bridging point of the Western Cleddau. Haverfordwest Bridge Commissioners oversaw the construction of a new bridge across the river in 1833, and continued to administer it and raise tolls into the 20th century.
