Papers of the Association of British Chambers of Commerce

Papers submitted by Government to the Legal Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce and their responses to Government, 1970s-1980s

The Association was founded in 1860 as the Association of Chambers of Commerce of the United Kingdom, and shortly afterwards its name was changed to the Association of British Chambers of Commerce. These Chambers of Commerce were set up throughout Britain as local, independent, non-profit making and non party-political organisations, and were funded by membership subscriptions.

The papers are still in the files as arranged by the donor of the collection.
