De Beer's papers include correspondence, papers delivered by de Beer to various societies, and inventories and valuations of the household effects of de Beer.

Administrative / Biographical History

Esmond Samuel de Beer (1895-1990) was the editor of John Evelyn's diary and John Locke's letters. Details are given in Who Was Who.

Acquisition Information

The papers were bequeathed to the Friends of the National Libraries, and given to the Library by them in 1992.
