Portrait of Dr. Oronhyatekha. c.1890

A mounted cabinet portrait, measuring 94 x 136 mm, and showing Dr. Oronhyatekha dressed in a long coat and standing beside a table. Dr. Oronhyatekha (1841-1907) was the Supreme Chief Ranger of the Independent Order of Foresters. In 1860 he met the Prince of Wales who invited him to continue his studies at Oxford where he qualified as a physician.

Commercial photographers, active in Canada in the 1890s with a studio at 92 Yonge Street, Toronto.
