Many of the items are manuscript articles and talks by Blanchard on subjects including: South African churches' attitudes towards apartheid; African education in South Africa; British immigrants and their effect on Rhodesian race relations; Christian bodies and the Rhodesian Front.
There is correspondence with, among others, Arthur Blaxall, (a British-born clergyman convicted in South Africa in 1965 of aiding the African National Congress), Sir Humphrey Gibbs and British M.Ps.
After emigrating to Rhodesia in 1955, Mr. Blanchard joined both the Rhodesian Central African Party and the Capricorn Africa Society. He later taught in Zambia before returning to Britain where he helped organise anti-apartheid activities in Bournemouth.
