Scope and Content

Grant by Leopold I, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, to Friderich Caspar and Johann C Herman of Neuhoff (Alsace). Dated Vienna, 1696. Manuscript on vellum with decorations worked in ink and gold flourishes. Bound in a pink velvet binding.

Physical Characteristics and/or Technical Requirements

Vellum manuscript, with a paper fly-leaf at each end, in velvet binding, originally of deep rose colour, now very discoloured. One quire. Headings etc in gold. Gold borders of ornamental entwined leaf scroll, including an eagle at the centre, on folios 2r-2v; decorations at the centre top and base of each folio, some in scroll form.
