Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The West Wales Field Society was established in 1938, concerned with wildlife conservation in Pembrokeshire, Cardiganshire and Carmarthenshire. In the 1960s, it became the West Wales Naturalists' Trust. It later became the West Wales Trust for Nature Conservation, then Dyfed Wildlife Trust. In about 1996 it changed its name to the West Wales Wildlife Trust (or Wildlife Trust for West Wales). In about 2005 it merged with Glamorgan Wildlife Trust to form the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. The Trust manages nature reserves including Skomer and Skokholm islands.
