The Robina Purdon Collection includes the following records:
Robina Macfarlane Stephens (nee Robina Macfarlane Purdon), known as Ruby, was born in 1897 in Alva, Clackmannanshire, Scotland. She was educated at Alva Academy before attending Glasgow & West of Scotland College of Domestic Science (Incorporated) in Glasgow, Scotland, from at least 1917 until 1918 . While at the college she studied laundry and cookery, housework, house management and needlework. After leaving college, until her marriage in 1924, she was employed as a domestic science teacher in Plymouth, Devon, England. She died in 1935 .
