The Scottish Metal Refiners Association was formed at a meeting on 21 January 1919 in the offices of their appointed secretaries, Thomson McLintock & Co , chartered accountants, Glasgow, Scotland. It was formed to fix prices and composition weights of ash metal. The committee met every month.
