This oral history collection comprises 15 interviews looking at 1970s Leicester and the city's Cultural Quarter. One interview also looks at the strike of Asian workers from Imperial Typewriter in 1974. They were conducted by Divya Ghelani in February 2015 and September 2016.

Divya Ghelani is a writer who was born in Jamnagar, Gujarat and who grew up in Loughborough, Leicestershire. She conducted these oral history interviews as research for her short story, 'An Imperial Typewriter' commissioned as part of a local history project called 'Affective Digital Histories' in 2014.
