Scope and Content

Corn Street Mill was a factory complex consisting of a house, weaving shop, workshops, yard and gardens for handloom weavers. In the 1870s it became a glove factory and from 1929 the premises for the Swan Laundry. A fire in 1993 saw the area redeveloped for housing known as Swan Court.

The records were deposited as Acc 1576 in December 1978 and originally catalogued as Swan. Recatalogued by Alison Smith and Becky Hogben in November 2020.
