Scope and Content

Contains detailed autograph manuscript botanical and technical laboratory notes written between 12 March 1878 and May 1893, interspersed throughout with many handdrawn illustrations of specimens, some of which are coloured.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Barwell Turner (1845-1917) was a botanist and expert on the Desmidieae. He became President of the Leeds Naturalists' Club in 1881.
