Administrative / Biographical History

Sir Harry Platt (1886-1986) was born at Thornham, Lancashire. As Captain, RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps), he served as the Surgeon in charge of an orthopaedic centre in Manchester. Later he became President of the Royal College of Surgeons.
