Administrative / Biographical History

Boy Scout groups were formed in the early 1900s. A number of troops were established in Anglesey, Caernarfonshire and Merionethshire. The Boy Scout Association was established in 1910 in order to support the individual scout troops. The Association is organised into districts, of which Conwy, Dwyfor, Isle of Anglesey, Meirionnydd and Snowdon are located within Gwynedd, and county associations; there is also a Welsh Scouts Council.
