The main body of papers relative to Anderson is a fine collection of personal letters, dating from between 1801 and 1809. Most were written to his parents, Andrew Anderson, shipmaster of Kincardine and Ann Moon. They enlighten both our understanding of Anderson's student days and the trading and ship-owning activities of his family. The papers also include a Report to the Perth water commissioners, (Perth, 1837).
