Administrative / Biographical History
In the 1930's, Thomas Richards, the Librarian of the University College of North Wales, successfully campaigned to create a collection of Welsh periodicals from America and Australia for the University Library. Amongst the generous donors were W. S. Jones of Columbus, Wisconsin, Professor Paul Evans of Vermont University and William Owen of Cotter, Iowa.
The efforts of Thomas Richards resulted in the acquisition of such periodicals as Y Drych, Y Cenhadwr Americanaidd, Yr Australydd.
