Scope and Content

John Markham, son and heir of the late Henry and Agnes Markham of Ellesfeld [Elsfield], Oxfordshire, confirms his gift (with warranty) to William Boseno, Roger Folkes [or Fowes?], David Langeston, John Gerlond, and John Gyles, of a messuage and virgate of land in Elsfield which John holds by right of inheritance from his parents. Deed poll, witnessed by Maurice Harry, John Wodewe, William Harryes, William Hardyman, John Hille, Roger West, William Kyng, and many others. Tag and seal wanting. Endorsed in a near-contemporary hand: 'Carta Johannis Markham de terris / in Ellisfeld'. In pencil at top right: '18'.
