Scope and Content

This series includes statistics showing the numbers of visitors attending the Gallery and numbers attending special exhibitions. This is not a comprehensive series. See 'Other Materials' section for further details.

Administrative / Biographical History

Statistics on the numbers of visitors to the Gallery have been collected since the Gallery first opened to the public in 1857. Statistics specifically on numbers attending special exhibitions have also been collected since special exhibitions began in the 1960s.

Access Information

Available to view by appointment in the Heinz Archive and Library Public Study Room, to make an appointment contact Archive Reception . Although records are generally available for public consultation, some information in them, such as personal data or information supplied to the Gallery in confidence, may be restricted.
