Governor's minutes

The Education Act, 1980 required the arrangement of governing bodies for all county and voluntary schools. The new arrangements for school governing bodies in Dyfed were introduced in May 1985. The changes saw the introduction of over 2000 governors in schools across Dyfed. The county was divided as follows: Aberystwyth Area County Primary Schools; Carmarthen Area County Primary Schools; Haverfordwest Area County Primary Schools; Llanelli Area County Primary Schools; County Secondary Schools; Church in Wales Voluntary Controlled Primary Schools; Church in Wales Voluntary Aided Primary Schools; Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided Primary Schools; and Special Schools.

Carmarthenshire Archives hold records relating to those schools within the Carmarthenshire area.
