Scope and Content

In the records and feet of fines with proclamations before the Justices in the town of St Albans Michaelmas term 1593 it is contained as follow: Essex. Final agreement made in court at St Albans between Sir Thomas Josselyn and Robert Waylett, Margery his wife, Avery Waylett and Mary his wife about certain land in Berners Roding, whereby Robert, Margery, Avery and Mary Waylett recognised the land to be the right of Sir Thomas, that Sir Thomas should have it by their gift, that they remit and quit claim it to Sir Thomas for ever, that they warrant it to him for ever, that Sir Thomas pay a certain sum.
