    • 1 vol. (78 ff.); Blank leaves: f.1 (except for brief note on recto), f.40v, f.43v, f.55v, f.78. Stubs of removed leaves between ff.44-45 and 72-73, text being continuous. In ink, in a single secretary hand throughout, margins ruled. Bound (in 8s) in contemporary calf, blind stamped with design including initials "W T" on front and back, traces of missing clasps.

Scope and Content

Collection of religious prose and verse in a single hand, probably all composed by Thomson and in his autograph. Includes: f.2r-v: prose piece beginning "The papist and Quaker agree..."; ff.3r-34v: two prose pieces of spiritual autobiography, signed "W T 1648" and "Willm Thomson 1629" respectively; ff.35r-43r: three poems, the first signed by Thomson 1633 and the third 1634; f.44r-77v: five theological essays or commentaries in prose, the first signed by Thomson 1654, the third entitled "What a libertyne is" and the fifth, "The sacrement explained", referring to Latimer, Ridley and Ralph Allerton.
