Administrative / Biographical History
In 1951 The Associated Ethyl Company Limited proposed a new Bromine from sea water facility be established at Amlwch known as Octel and in 1953 production began. In 1961 the company name was changed to Associated Octel Co. Ltd. Later Great Lakes, the Amlwch site was closed in 2004. Decommissiong followed and the site was purchased in 2007 by Canatxx.
