Mounted snapshots of various sizes with handwritten captions (the captions have, in some instances, been abbreviated for this catalogue). Photographs are by Engineer Commander Donald P Green and others. They were taken in the course of one commission on board HMS 'Cornwall', a twin-screw armoured cruiser, at that time serving as a cadet training ship. During the course of 1908 'Cornwall', under the command of Captain (later Admiral) William Hall, (1870-1943), visited Malta, Canada and Bermuda, returning to Devonport in August and then paying another visit to Bermuda, again via Canada. The majority of the pictures are snapshots taken on social occasions including picnics, the marriage of one of the ship's company (with Green as best man), a pageant in Admiralty House Gardens, Bermuda and a weekend visit to Government House, Bermuda.
