Portrait of Julia Maria Roberts [wife of Henry Gee Roberts] and her children Frederic Boyd Roberts (b 1841) and Stanley Napier Roberts (b 1844). Portrait painted by Mrs Henry Moseley, daughter of the animal painter H. B. Chalmer.

Administrative / Biographical History

Mrs Henry Moseley (1800-1867) was the daughter of H. B. Chalmer, animal painter, and exhibited at the Royal Academy under her maiden name from 1819-1840. She was portrait painter to the Duke of York, c 1823. In c 1841 she married Henry Moseley, portrait painter, and exhibited under her married name at the Royal Academy until 1866. She was interested in music and amoung her sitters was C. E. Horn.
