Administrative / Biographical History

Caernarfon Town Library, Caernarfon, Caernarfonshire, was opened in 1884 by the Borough of Caernarfon. It was later supplemented by Caernarfonshire County Library. In 1994, the two libraries were merged to form Caernarfon Public Library. The Town Library accumulated a collection of newspaper cuttings on various subjects, programmes, official souvenirs, booklets, photographs, postcards, prints and maps relating to the town and county of Caernarfon dating from the early nineteenth century up to 1900.
