Scope and Content

Brize Norton is a small parish to the south west of Witney. In 1963, it was united with Carterton, but in 1976 Carterton became a separate parish. Since 1980, Brize Norton has been united with Minster Lovell.

All the records in PAR43 were deposited originally with the Bodleian Library in 1961, except for PAR43/1/R5/2, which was deposited with Oxfordshire Archives in 1994 as Accession Number 3836, PAR43/1/R3/3-5, which were deposited in 1995 as Acc. no. 4039, PAR43/1/R4/1-2, which were deposited in 1998 as Acc. No. 4405, and PAR43/1/R2/3, deposited in May 1999 as accession 4505. A further accession, 5820, was deposited in February 2009.

An appendix gives a table comparing old and new references for the records.

Recatalogued by Robin Darwall-Smith in October 1998, and Mark Priddey in June 1999. Additions made by Hannah Jones in February 2010.
