Scope and Content

These papers consist of manuscripts for a book and articles by Barbara Ingham, tour plans and notes, photographs, maps, correspondence and other material connected to her interest in India.

Administrative / Biographical History

Barbara Ingham became interested in India and made several visits to the country in the 1970s and 1980s. She also became involved in the Rural Life Programme.

Open. Please contact the archivist. nc@royalasiaticsociety.org The archive is open on Tuesdays and Fridays 10-5, and Thursdays 2-5. Access is to any researcher without appointment but it will help if an appointment is made via phone or email. Please bring photo ID

Acquisition Information

These papers were donated by Barbara Ingham's son, John, a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society in the 1990s.

Note

Barbara Ingham became interested in India and made several visits to the country in the 1970s and 1980s. She also became involved in the Rural Life Programme.
