Scope and Content

Photographs gathered by Bill Rear in the course of his research into railway and bus history, primarily in North Wales, but also for other areas throughout England, Wales and the rest of the world.

CP384/1-10 relate to published volumes. They include photographs used in the books, but also many more that were not.

CP384/11 relates to a planned, but unpublished, volume on the history of LMS branch lines in North Wales.

CP384/1 has been catalogued down to the level of the individual photograph. Due to time constraints and the size of the collection, the rest of it has been catalogued to sub-section levels only, relating to stations, areas of track or train companies.
