The collection forms part of the archive of the British Clothing Industry Association (MSS.222), in which the records of various predecessor and related organisations are contained.

Administrative / Biographical History

Founded in 1933, the Wholesale Fashion Trades Association became the British Fashion Trade Association in 1945. Two years later it merged with the Apparel Manufacturers' Association to become the British Fashion Trade and Apparel Manufacturers' Association, from mid-1948 the Apparel and Fashion Industry's Association.
