Robert Cecil Hearn (1892-1918) was born at Hatcham, South London, and educated at St. Olave's Grammar School, Southwark, and St. John's College, Cambridge. As a Captain, 2nd/20th Battalion, London Regiment, he served on the Western Front, 1915, Macedonia, 1916, and in Palestine, 1917-1918. He was awarded the MC (Military Cross) in November 1917, but killed in action on 30 April 1918 and buried in the Jerusalem War Cemetery.
