Administrative / Biographical History

The Newport, Abergavenny and Hereford Railway Company was incorporated in 1846. The following year, an Act for the Taff Vale Extension was passed, which led to the opening of a line between Coedygric North Junction and the Taff Vale Railway at Quakers' Yard. In 1860 the Company merged with the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway and Worcester and Hereford Railways to form the West Midland Railway.
