Scope and Content

Conveyance of 'adventurers' land at Hale Fen, Coveney and Witcham, part of Bedford Level, to Thomas Wilson of Montagu St, Portman Square, esq, to hold in trust for Rosalinda Foss. late of Stockwell and now of Muswell Hill, widow, and Capt John Thompson RN of Connaught Square and his wife Maria, the two ladies being co-heiresses of Daniel Hamiul, who died intestate in 1822. Augustus Robert Hankey of Fenchurch St, banker, and Thomas Law Hodges of Hempstead Place, Kent, esq, acknowledge satisfaction of a debt incurred by the late Hamiul of #7,000, secured upon the same lands. Lease signed and sealed by Thomas Law Hodges and Augustus Robert Hankey, witnessed by Thomas Neve of Benenden, farmer, Samuel Kirby, servant, Charles Druce jnr, solicitor, of London, and Charles Burrows his clerk; release signed and sealed by Hodges, Hankey, Foss, both Thompsons, and Wilson. Lease and release endorsed as entered in the Bedford Level Company Register on 24 Oct 1828, duty stamps.
