Scope and Content

including a diary and photograph albums mainly of the Ty'n-y-coed area near Caerdeon between Bontddu and Barmouth.

Administrative / Biographical History

Harry Baker, an analytical chemist from Runcorn, his wife Polly and their four children, born between 1890 and 1900 spent Summer holidays at Ty'n-y-coed on several occasions after 1900. The later diary and photographs relate to a sentimental visit made in 1914, when the children were almost adults and the shadow of the First World War may already be evident.
