Administrative / Biographical History

Rear Admiral Ludwig von Reuter commanded the German High Seas Fleet when it was surrendered to the Royal Navy at Scapa Flow in November 1918. On board the cruiser Emden he issued the order for the fleet to be scuttled on 21 June 1919. His papers have been copied and translated from German into English by C.D.M. Cossar.
