Administrative / Biographical History

The group grew out of an Workers' Educational Association course on working class housing. When the course finished in 1982 some of the members wished to continue researching early working class housing development. They aimed to record surviving examples, preserve in situ if possible and rescue a typical example for relocation in a museum

If you wish to visit the library you need to make an appointment. The Working Class Movement Library is open Tuesday-Friday 10.00am-5.00pm and every 1st Saturday of the month 10.00am-4.00pm.
