There is an entry by Thomas Perry at the front of the letter book describing its contents: This book contains part of my English correspondence during the period of my officialdom as magistrate in the district of Etawa in Bengal...the remaining part of the book is mostly filled with letters and reports connected with two circuits performed by me in the years 1819, 20 & 21, when attached to the court of circuit in Bareily.
