Account of a visit by Henri Deydier to Northern Laos some time in the early 1950s. It gives a good impression of the life, customs and beliefs of the people in the area. Deydier spent much of his time collecting and studying sacred and secular documents. Also of interest is his frequent mention of military problems, with the threatened invasion of the Viet Minh, and mention of Vietnam. Events probably took place in c.1953.
