Scope and Content

Walter, rector of the parish church of St Michael, Longastantone [Longstanton], confirms his gift (with warranty) to William Halsteyn of Maddyngle [Madingley] of one selion of arable land in the western field of the same vill, at Bronnysdole between the land of Sir Thomas of Harelartone [Harlton] and the land of James Egle, abutting on the headland of Henry Egle of Madingley, chaplain. The selion was formerly held of Alice, elder daughter of John Wardeyn of Madingley. Deed poll, witnessed by John le Palmere of Madingley, Thomas le Bonde, James Egle, Henry de Schultone, William Selemyn, of the same place, and others. Red round seal with 8-point star motif. ?Sixteenth-century endorsement: 'Brounnys Dole'. Further endorsed in pencil: '47'.
