Log book of the 'Speights Town' of Liverpool, 'bound to Madeira and Barbados', with entries from 28 Jan to 16 May 1788, and an undated account of expenses and goods bought at Madeira and Barbados on the back fly-leaves. The entries are in a Mariner's Journal Book, or the Liverpool ready-ruled Journal...by Egerton Smith (1787), a printed log-book, completed in manuscript. The ship's cargo included wine, sugar, and cotton. The front flyleaf is dated 'York 1788'.
