Administrative / Biographical History

The Rev. Philip Constable Ellis (1822-1900) of the Rectory, Llanfairfechan, Caernarfonshire, came into possession of properties in the parishes of Clynnog, Llanaelhaearn, Llanwnda, and elsewhere in Caernarfonshire, following the death of his aunt in 1869. She and his mother had inherited the properties from his uncle, Philip Constable of Northampton (d. 1824), who had purchased some of them from the Bontnewydd Estate.

Arranged into the following: parish of Llanaelhaiarn; parish of Llanwnda; parish of Clynnog; and mixed parishes.
