Scope and Content

A poetry manuscript in the hand of Rev. Edward Lloyd containing his own work and that of other poets such as Edward Morus and Huw Morus.

Administrative / Biographical History

During his life Rev. Edward Lloyd acted as rector for Nantglyn in Denbighshire, Llangower in Merioneth, Llansannan in Denbighshire, Llaneurgain (Northop) in Flintshire and Llanarmon-yn-Il in Denbighshire. According to the Archdeacon D.R. Thomas in the A history of the diocese of St. Asaph, general, cathedral, and parochial (1874), Edward Lloyd probably lost the rectorship of Llanarmon-yn-Il because he did not swear allegiance to King William III.
