The Scottish team uniform for the 1998 Commonwealth games was designed by SCOT students Flora Hall and Victoria Sinclair. It was based on the Cameron Highlands tartan with a saltire blue background and incorporated the thistle and hibiscus flower which are the national flowers of Scotland and Malaysia.
The uniforms consist of a sarong style skirt with a cotton blouse for women, and tartan trousers, shorts or kilt with polo shirts for the men.
