Administrative / Biographical History

This school was built in 1916 as a Council School; in the reorganization of 1931 it became a Senior Mixed School, and subsequently a Secondary Modern School.

In 1965 a new school was opened at Campsmount by Councillor Francis Wardle. The new school brought together Askern Secondary Modern School (which became Askern Spa Junior School) and Norton Secondary Modern School. A new arts block was constructed in 1973.
