Court book of the manor of Tregare, Bryngwyn Penrose and Henllys, 1747-1922, and papers relating to sales of estate land in Abergavenny, Bryngwyn, Llanelly, Llanfoist, Llantilio Pertholey, Llanddewi Rhydderch and Llanwenarth, 1917-1923.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Monmouthshire estates of the Neville family were a relatively minor part of the over-all Abergavenny estate. According to the 1873 return of owners of land, the Earl of Abergavenny owned some 15,000 acres in Sussex, 6,000 acres in Kent and 7,000 acres in Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Monmouthshire and Herefordshire, besides 11 acres in Norfolk.
